There is a place in Northern Italy where Spring arrives early. The sun's rays soon begin to warm up, while the Ora, the wind from Upper Garda, blows gently, bringing with it the scents of this exceptional Mediterranean maquis at the foot of the Dolomites.

Which are still there, easily reachable from Riva del Garda. This is why Garda Trentino is a favourite destination for spring trips, when the days are getting longer and brighter. Here some useful tips for your next Spring getaway!

Garda Trentino: Some not to be missed events

With the days becoming longer and brighter and the arrival of more pleasant temperatures, the events calendar in Riva del Garda and surroundings becomes increasingly rich. One of the most important events in spring is, the Lake Garda 42 marathon, which takes place every year and runs between Limone and Malcesine (or between Arco and Malcesine, for the half marathon).

Those who prefer a good glass of wine to running should instead mark the days at the end of March to attend the DiVinNosiola in the nearby Valle dei Laghi, an event celebrating the native Trentino Nosiola grape, the Vino Santo Doc as well as the grappas obtained from the same grape.

But there’s more: what about the Festa della Fioritura in Malga Dromaè – the blooming party - in Val di Ledro, which is typically celebrated in May, with tastings of polenta carbonera, salamelle, peverà and wine. April is also the month of the great and participated sailing regattas, with a calendar that every year is full of appointments for enthusiasts!

The many parks of Garda

When spring arrives, the desire is to be outdoors is increasing, as there are many opportunities.

Many themed and amusement parks along the shores of the lake, from the famous Gardaland to the Caneva Aquapark, up to Movieland are opening their doors as well as naturalistic parks, such as the Parco Giardino Sigurtà or the wildlife park Parco Natura Viva. And these only to name a few, but there are a lot more!

Outdoor sports: trekking and biking

Certainly, the spring months, thanks to the pleasant temperatures and the awakening of nature, are perfect for outdoor sports. Garda Trentino is a open-air gym where fun and views are guaranteed.

Many are the excursions to do in the neighbourhood of Riva del Garda, starting from the medium-easy panoramic walks, such as the one on the Ponale path, to the toughest excursions, such as the one that leads to Monte Stivo or to the Senter de le Greste.

Those keen of speed, adrenaline and more kilometres can opt for a bike - knowing that there is a convenient rental point just a few meters from our campsite - as well as for e-bikes, with the certainty of being able to recharge them at our column.

Discovering the most beautiful villages of Garda Trentino

Lake Garda is not just nature: it is also picturesque and unique villages. Think of nearby Arco, with its castle perched above the city, or of the combination of Torbole and Nago, two picture-perfect villages at the foot of Monte Baldo. And what about the small villages of Valle di Ledro, immersed in meadows and woods or the characteristic village of Canale di Tenno a few kilometres from Riva?
